Default How do you service GSXR750 USD's?

Hello

Anyone on here know how to service and tweak the front forks for a 1998 GSXR750? Looking at fitting new springs and oil and setting the suspension up for a 15st rider, please bear in mind the forks are on an SV650.

Thank you

Removing them for servicing is exactly the same as for a GSXR or an SV... just take off all the wheels and other "stuff" and pull the forks out.

I believe the only difference with servicing USD forks is when you detach the damper rod from the fork top the stanchion and slider can be separated, you don't have the clip on the seal holding things in place.

The manual for the SRAD is on carlsalter.com IIRC

All cartridge forks will require the cap and adjuster removed from the damper rod before they will come apart, USD or RWU.

This I know, I mean you need to be a little more careful with the USDs. Don't know how easy they are to slide apart so when I've done them I've tried to keep the leg compressed.

Edit: no I'm talking b0llocks. They're held together same way as normal forks... whoopsie

Sorry Chris, didn't intend to imply you didn't know - just wanted to clarify.

Note to self - don't be so brief.

Never tried to swap, but the forks that are the same on the outside certainly look the same on the inside too.
