Default Oil change question

hi guys quick question i've just change the oil in my 2000 curvy, put 2300ml in it like it says but when i start the bike the oil disappears from the site glass and only returns if i open the oil filler cap i assume it means its creating a vacuum in the engine is this normal or have i got a problem any advice/opinion would be gladly appreciated.

Eh,

First ensure the oil is correct in the sight glass on a level surface and the bike upright. don't use a measure, use your eyes.

Oil level should return to the same after about a minute of the engine being stopped. If it only returns once you remove the filler cap, I would suggest you look at your breathers. Remember being a twin there is a huge amount of air movement within the cylinders and crankcase. you are more likely to be pressuring the crankcase than creating a vacuum

yeh the bike will probably use more than 2300, as the sv has other things that will fill with oil such as the filter. let the oil settle for a few mins, hold up straight and then add oil as needed untill it is within the min max levels
