I dunno, look at the manual for your bike and see what the 4k service is! On GSXR it could be loads of work, but AFAIK it's nothing special.

Thats exactly what I paid for my 4k on the SV. Granted alot will say just change the oil yourself but if your not 100% with checking the bike then there no harm done taking it in somewhere in my eyes.

If the dealer does just give it an oil change its obviously a rip off. I took mine to a garage I had been recommended, they checked everything and spotted the 'headraces?' needed tightening up and a host of other things were adjusted......the bike came back feeling amazing.

The oil change only is done in the interim service, around 600 miles, they also walk around and check everything is still attached/tightened properly.

A dealer trained mechanics first service is usually;

- Air filter check and clean
- Spark Plugs
- Oil change
- Coolant check
- Throttle cable check
- Clutch cable check
- Chain check
- Brake system check
- lubricate relevant parts/components
- Tyre and wheel check
- All nuts tightened correctly
