Default quick engine braking question

Would i be right in thinking that a full power sv has more engine braking than a restricted sv in the higher rev range, given that you actually have power above 7/8,000rpm?
eg. If you were to wind off on both bikes from say 11/12,000rpm would the full powered sv slow down quicker than the restricted, unasisted by brakes?

Just popped into my head is all

Nope, just the same. The restricted airflow into the engine makes no odds when the throttle valves are closed.

I am not sure actually. I would think it would have an effect but I don't think it would be proportionate to the BHP. It would be proportionate to the tourque which is relatively untouched by the restriction I believe. Just thinking out load here, could be totally wrong.

And sure someone with knowledge will answer it correctly.

Exactly the same? Really...wow, in my head i would have thought there would be some difference

I really should do some reading on torque and bhp and whatnot..

Needs no background, what's the difference between a full power and a 33bhp bike at tickover? That's effectively the carb conditions you're giving it.

But, I suspect that engine braking is more due to the air underneath the pistons than that in the cylinders. I will try it when the roads are quiet...

See how much throttle position affects the engine braking with no ignition.

Just find a big hill and turn off the ignition? then waggle the throttle?

be careful what you believe. There's so much cobblers about. In fact the 2 most mythical subjects are "torque vs power" and "what causes engine braking". People just make up stuff to explain it.
