Urgent advice please

In the process of changing original grips to 'comfort grips' and need some advice please.
I have removed the stock ones no problem and fitted the l/h grip no problem, But the throttle had a plastic sleeve under the grip which has plastic rims or flanges either end which the stock grip has grooves in to locate onto these flanges.
My new grips dont have these and they seem smaller, do i need to remove the plastic flanges as the new grips wont sit flat i presume with these hard plastic flanges in place.
Any help appreciated.

Yeah, I cut all the flanges off mine when I fitted my heated grips, this is no different. The flanges are a good idea but not really needed, a bit of superglue (or just tight fitting grips) is enough.

I did the same thing on my 1st SV this time I just combined the fitting of heated grips with fitting the R6 throttle (gives you about 70 extra BHP don't ya know )

Cheers, i was thinking it was ok but didnt have the cahooners to do it before asking someone.
