Default Best Tyres for High Milage Riding

Hello all

Long time no see, have been secretly hopping in an out of the forum from time to time.

Well to cut down short, I have just decided to put my H@nda CB-1 to bed!!

And out comes the SV again! with a fresh MoT!

However tyres will be due some point in its life, so as just wondering, what are the best tyres for high milage while offering good amount grip of course!

Any thoughts would be appreciated, i know its probably been asked a million times but the tyre market changes and search hasn't been much help.

Cheers

Dual compount stuff, Pilot Road 2, Dunlop Roadsmarts (not sure on milage), Avon Storms get the nod, Metzler Z6, basically anything sport touring..

I run Conti Road Attack on motorway riding and regularly get 10,000 miles from the rear and 20,000 for the front

I've been told Pirelli Stratas are a good tyre for want of high mileage. the best quote I've had is 150 quid for the pair.

I've got BT020 on the SV at present and the rear is nearing the end after nearly 5,000 miles and there is alot of life left in the front tyre. Brigdestones are expensive....that's the downside.

mandp.com have tyre offers on at present and I'm tempted to get continential conti-motion. Maybe after the GM2 I'll buy them.

I average around 9-10k rear 15k front on Pilot Road 2's. I specified there, because there's a possibility of confusing them with Pilot Race 2's.

Although, I have eaten a rear Pilot Road 2 in 700 miles. But then I was being very naughty. Expensive, but fun!
