Default Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black

I had two of these delivered to me yesterday - both dead.

I would have throught that WD, being a premium brand, that this would not happen very often. Does anyone else think this is odd or am I just being a bit sensitive?

I have 2 WD Passport external drives, neither that big and they have been absolutely fine. Maybe a bad batch?

Yeah, that seems to be the case. Just surprised with a £70 disk.

Must admit, I've got a couple of WD drives and they've both been fine (they'll be a couple of years old by now too).
