College is over next week
![]() Which then leaves me with a dilema of what to do, i currently have a 3 hour a day cleaning job and also working my saturday job down the bike shop, obviously im not the only person in this type of situation or in a worse situation. I dont think i want to do ICT any more and i have been applying for apprenticeships in mechanics cars and bikes but i am hearing nothing back from where i apply, so now really its time to start the teadious task of looking for jobs, ideally id like to work in a bikey enviroment and then if offered no apprenticeships perhaps start to entertain the idea of working in ICT as i originaly planned. Tis a right hum-dinger ![]() Any body else in a similar sort of situation? |

If you've sent your C.V. phone the place and ask them directly if they are looking to take on an apprentice. Tell them you have sent your C.V.
It shows you are keen and will make them notice you One better would be to go and see them in person |

Get a job as a trainee CAD operator at an engineering consultancy. You'll get sent to Uni part time to become a qualified Civil Engineer and earn a decent wage at the same time. As long as you aspire to be an engineer at the end of it rather than a Caddy, you'll make it.
Not what I did, but seen other people do it within the company I'm with. |

Well you'll still have thoery work to do with most mechanic type jobs! You should have got yourself an apprenticeship lined up before the end of school or college mad rush as there will be loads of applicants for few jobs! Not meaning to worry you more or anything! Just don't get lured into telesales. The money might look good now as you're a college leaver, but most other careers will earn you more in the long

Its more likely 95% practical than theory tho, i started appling ages ago i even applied to college to do 2 years motorsport course but kinda turned it down + i couldnt miss my lesson to do the test as it was important.
Theres no way id do tele sales, trust me id rather stick with my 3 hr a day job than cold call people |
