Default Should I buy this? (Ebay link).

Am i mental to even think about getting this???

I've been and test ridden this bike.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=270417380174

Plan is to fit the rear sets and forks etc to my curvy...

It feels much better than my almost standard curvy. The only problem is i don't think i can really meet the asking price. I feel there is also a fair chance no one will bid on the item before it ends. It has Renthal bars so would like to get the TL clip ons instead so the riding position would stay similar to how my curvy is now.

Few questions.

- How much do you think the Ixil twin underseat exhausts are worth if sold seperately???
- How hard would it be to just put my panels on that bike and vice versa. Main worry here would be around the lights and clocks as i think the mounts are different.
- Is the bike worth 1500 with all the engine upgrades, forks, rearsets, slip on etc???

The seller was a nice chap from Liverpool and may be willing to take the Ixil's off if it doesn't sell, so i may have scope to get the bike for less that way.

Comments and opinions please. Price? Amount of work invovled... Is it really worth it.

I wouldn't insure it fully. Once home i think i'd do the swapsies then re sell it at a lower price, possibly as a tool for someone younger looking at getting into biking or for a project to an older more experienced rider...

Why sell the ixil individually? Worth more on here as a full system. Stock pipes are cheap enough.

Better to swap all the bits onto your S, and all your stock bits back to that. That way your cables are reet for the TLS clipons too.

I would think £1500 is reasonable.

What are stage 1 cams when they're at home? The JHs trick ones are reckoned as stage 2. Does he mean pointy cams? Or some other companys trick offering?

£1500 and reserve not met. It'l be interesting to see what this sells for (if it sells at all).

I wasn't to sure either. He mentioned something about moving a pin don or up two notches... It felt alright when riding it.

I personally don't think that anyone else will bid on it at that price. It certainly won't meet the reserve.

I agree with what Yorkie Chris said - if you could take the good bits off that and put on your bike (forks, exhaust, rearsets, maybe even the engine?) and then sell it back with your old bits on you could probably get a grand for the bike you'd be reselling?

Basically keep your current frame and bodywork then swap over whatever off that that's newer?

If you could resell it for £800-£1000 it would be equivalent to all those upgrade for £500-700, are you willing to spend that?

Another way to look at it is that if you're willing to spend £500 on the upgrades, you could sell your current steed, add the sale price to that £500 and dump it all as a deposit on a new gixer 600........

Sorry mate, that's possibly not any help

Then where do i go after the deposit.

Seller:
Erm, Binky. Can i have the rest of my money please???
Binky: Not really. I only have enough for the deposit.... Can i still keep the bike though???
Seller:
Binky:

But in all honesty i'm bound to encounter problems with the swapping of stuff. I'm crap with these sorts of things. The more i think about it the more i think it's not worth it, especially with Europe coming up in just over a month...

Sorry, didn't explain myself - I meant putting the deposit on a new one from a dealer then paying the rest off at 0% if they've still got the deal on.
