I think this bit in bold gives you your answer :-

Turnsignal use is optional. If you didn“t connect signal wires you have a road legal tail light with e-mark!

Then it's not legal ! Simpe as and by reading what others have put its not very safe as they are not that clear.

Depends what you want, your lbike looking nice or your back end Mini indies are just as nice IMHO

Indicators and number plate are the only thing id never consider changing.

The plate for obvious (£60) reasons and the indicators because the standard ones are usually better than any aftermarket ones out there.

I agree on the indicator front! Just come back from aquick blast over Saddleworth Moor to find one of mine has fallen off!

The thing with aftermarket indies is as with most things you get what you pay for. I've paid less than a tenner before for indies and they were rubbish.
At the moment I have Motrax LED tinycators on the SV (£40 a pair) and have had no problems with them in the 4years or so that i've had them, they're probably also brighter than the standard ones.

Have also just fitted a full set of Motrak LED allycaotrs to kitkats Raptor and they're much better than the standard ones
