I've not take my test yet, but I'll be putting in for it soon so thought I should have a look for cheap cars and get some ideas of insurance.
I'm 19 and every car I've got a quote for has had a 1.1 engine, with the exception a mk1 Clio which was 1.2. I've not got a single insurance quote for under £2k! What a joke. If I'm able to transfer my NCB then this could help but so far I can't find anyone who does that, any ideas? |

I am £1400 TPFT for a 1.4 corsa (yes chavvy, scum, pr!ck etc)
![]() If you are looking at FC, most people don't even provide me with a quote. Advice: Keep you're bike, don't get a car until 21< Insurance is a killer. |

Yeah I've been looking at fully comp. For some reason I completely bypassed TPFT

Unless you *need* a car I wouldn't bother.
Running 6 wheels is pricey. I'd rent one nowadays instead of owning. |

With my girlfriend and my mum on the policy i can get tpft for 1300 on a 1.4 fabia about 5 years old. I found that TPO was lots more than TPFT for some reason. Im the same age as you, quoting as if i had passed my car test and had 0ncb. Try gocompare as you can edit quotes easily.

Aye, don't bother with FC, if you even claim theyre going to nail you on you're renweal.
Get TPFT, not TPO, don't ask why its cheaper. Stay safe, don't crash(personal experience) as renweal will go up around £600 with a claim only, that doesn't include possible points, charges convictions etc. I only drive my parents car, have no need for my own, had one before, and totaled it. Use the bike unless snow, or I need to take company anywhere. |

Ive just had a thought.
say you have a motorbike, get x years NCB on it insured with insurer A then get car insurance, transfer your NCB gained with insurer A to new car insurance with insurer B. both polices running paralel. Say you have an acident and have to claim, do you have to tell insurer A that you have claimed with insurer B or vice verca? Say you do, then you have say car insurance with 3 years NCD and bike with 0. end of the year, you can end bike policy with 0 years NCD and transfer the car NCD to a new insurance with insurer C and then have 2 polices with each 4 years NCD (as a year has elapsed) and one with one claim on it. is this legal? |
