Default Dual Processor

Alright people,

I’ve got a dual processor (not dual core) machine in work at the moment.

Anyone know how to test to make sure that both Processors are working?

It’s just had a fresh install of XP Pro and thankfully all the drivers are all there.

You can see both processors in task manager

Is it branded? If so download the diagnostics software that they normally supply. That will give you the best indication.

A quick and dirty solution of course would be to open Windows task manager. You should see more than one processor and some activity in each.

Sorry - can't edit my posts from work - I think you see both CPUs under the "performance" tab on task manager

another test is to run Anarchy Online with both processors enabled - it looks like the chase at the end of the Benny HIll show if they're both enabled

Better still use 'Process Explorer' a free tool from Sysinternals http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896653.aspx

Task Manager on steroids.
