Default Main engine mount spacer/adjuster

The threaded spacer on the left side of the engine for the main engine mounting bolt - what size is it? I've got a 22 mm socket that won't fit over it but the 23mm just spins round.

Any ideas on a tool I can use (adjustable wrench can't fit in cause it's recessed in the frame?

K3 pointy btw.

Just to note I'm not talking about the bolt itself, just the adjuster

it requires a special tool, not an ordinary socket does it not?

Yes for the adjuster. Bolt throgh the middle of it is normal. I think it's a 19 or something but could be wrong.

What does the tool look like? The smaller adjuster (in the 2nd pic) seemed to come loose with a normal socket but not the main one. I don't mean the lock-nuts as I have the tool for those, it's the thing the lock nut threads onto that forces the engine away from the frame.

Managed to get the engine out with the help of Simesb, many thanks for that mate. Now I need to get the generator off to swap over but I don't have a rotor puller, any way to do it without (safely)?

Does new motor not have a flywheel on it then?

Locknut is big castellated thing? It threads round a castellated adjuster. You can get them on eBay I think. Otherwise it's about a 19mm socket chopped down to shape with grinder.

Puller is an M20 fine pitch bolt. Engineering suppliers usually have them.

It's the thrust adjuster that we can't get anything to fit - somewhere between 22 and 23mm seemingly.

Yeah new motor came without flywheel / starter clutch (it was advertised that way). Richie has lent me the bolt to remove the flywheel but I haven't got anything to stop the rotor moving as I try and screw it in. Tried a belt with no success as it just slips. Gonna try taking both motors to a local garage and asking if they can transplant it, i'd imagine it's a 10 minute job with the right tools so shouldn't be expensive.

Back to the thread topic - it's not the castle lock nuts we struggled with (got the peg sockets off ebay for those) it's the adjuster that forces the engine away from the frame - we tried a 22mm and 23mm socket which were too small and too big respectively, and it's recessed in the frame so impossible to get an adjustable wrench around. You can screw them in and out by hand but i'm guessing this might not be tight enough.

stupid question but would an imperial socket fit which is in between?

(I know Jap bike but if it's in between could be a 23 slightly rounded or something)
