Default A-Quote Insurance are great!

Just a plug for a company that continue to give excellent service. I have used them for the past 4 years, initially because they gave the cheapest quote. They were excellent liaising with Norwich Union after my off two years ago, which meant the claim was settled within a couple of weeks. I was back on the road in three weeks.

Since then they have been the cheapest every year and have been efficient at renewal time. This year they were only £3 more than the cheapest quote I got, but with a lower excess, so I decided to stick with them. I already have my new certificate of insurance ready to go.

I used them last year Mike

They did me a good deal with Norwich Union that beat the pants off anything else I had been given previously. Amazing how some companies can come in with what starts as a reasonable quote and then add on loads of extras etc then surprise you with stupid X/S

However, I have put some tests through thebikeinsurer and they look to be doing good offers. However, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The Norwich Union recovery paperwork through the RAC reads rather well, and looks like they will recover you after an accident unlike many of the other services such as AA etc.

The thing is everyone else who comes close on price have much bigger excesses. These large excess values just make insurance pointless to me. So I'll stick with someone who has a sensible excess value thanks

For me - they are completely crap! xD

About £500 more than my current.

I have been quoted £339 by MCE (FC)

and £850 using aQuote (TPFT)

So not for me - but thanks anyway!

Be careful with MCE, plenty on here have had a bad experience with them. Although I personally had no problems until they failed to be competitive in terms of premium, X/S and recovery.

Perhaps that is the issue with some risk averse insurance providers, they want older riders like Mike and myself and penalise through the premiums younger riders who go elsewhere.

I found A-Quote rubbish and could not wait to be rid of them. Customer service? FAIL. And as it happens when the end of the insurance year came up, they could not or would not match or better the quote I got from Carole Nash and quite a few other brokers.

I've gone with A-quote this year.
The credit agreement to pay by installments want very clear (and thought at first I was being scammed as the credit agreement is from a third party)
I've also not yet received either a cover note, nor my documents despite the insurance starting from mid May (all I have is a confirmation email).

Emailed twice and spoke to them once, but nothing so far............

Very good price and excess, but i'm now wondering if this is at the expense of customer service?!?!?

Bennetts for me - £70 FC with no voluntary excess and a £200 excess.

Excellent broker!

Ran a quote, came up with £700 with 500xc for the SL even though I've put 1 more NCB.
I'm on £350/250 at the moment. Probably too young :/
