Word of warning.
It may be wise for those that carry credit cards to check your current credit limit. after returning from france i decided to check my balance on line, yesterday, to see if i can buy tyres etc to set me up for the rest of the summer and pay off over winter. i found that my credit limit had been cut by over two thirds leaving me £100 off my credit limit. they provided no notice that it would happen. on speaking to the bank, lloyds tsb, they could provide me with no explanation as to why this had happened. When i asked why they had not notified me, they said they had. they sent me a letter 03/07/09, the same day they cut the limit. the most galling response i have had as to why it was cut - responsible lending. this coming from the same people that raised the credit limit every 6 months whether or not i asked them to, and the same people the got this country into an economic quagmire with their irresponsible policies! it seems to be common practice at the minute as banks are clearly in the proverbial and are trying to reign in spending. i am however going to try and tear someone a new one as this has now totally screwed the rest of mine and my gf's summer. any one got any advice or experienced similar? |

We are in the process of Taking Lloyds TSB to task over their helpfulness policy which if you do ask for help, you are transferred to a call centre where the poor staff do not speak English well so can not understand us. God help them if they get a strong accent. The flip side to this is that when we have spoken to them, the levels of communication are so bad that we were unable to get the help we needed. Instead of reducing our overdraft limit they raised it to well in excess of £1000!
Responsiblebanking my foot. Grrrr-nashing of teeth-hating of Lloyds Bank. |

this happened to my gf with 3 mobile. when she asked to speak to someone english they accussed her of being racist - which you can understand, except this was after the 5th attempt of trying to get her first and last name...
i shall investigate this helpfulness policy and see if i can cause them trouble with it... |
