Question Engine noise

Hi,

I took out the missus on Sunday for the first time for both of us and since then I think the SV sounds different almost more mechanical if that makes sense a little noisier and chuggy when at low speeds? It used to have a little whistle at speed but no more.

Idea?

Wouldnt harm to top up the oil to be towards the upper limit...I notice my bike is louder when the oil is halfway or lower. An oil change would help, especialy if the oil is a bit old (greater than one year) or the bike has seen quite a few miles since the last oil change (greater than 5000)

Clean and lubricate the final drive chain aswell, i found that helps reduce noise.

Oil is only 5 mths old and has done just over 1000 miles, it's low speeds any gear around 5-35mph and a slight power loss between 3k and 5k rpm but it has more of a nocking noise now you can really here the pistons pumping away mainly from the front of the V twin, if that makes sense?

It's almost like a chugging tracktor.

I'll see about put up a sound bite or upload a video to youtube so you all can see what I mean.

I should also add it's just over 15k on clock so could be tappets?

When I take my wife out in the car I get a whining noise from the passenger seat if I corner quite heavily but this goes away when she gets out so probably not much help to you!
