First, ride it into a wall. Then shoe-horn some replacement parts on from superior sportsbikes, add a hand-done camo paint job and get creative with a hacksaw in removing half the seat/subframe. Job done.
ps. You'll also need to stick a skull on somewhere. Bonus points if you can get the headlights to be in the eye sockets of the skull. |

It really depends how far you want to go.
Originally Streetfighters were as you say faired bikes (I think the Gixxer 1100 was the grand-daddy) that had been down the road & were cheaper to put back on the road by 'losing' the plastics & adding Renthal type bars & new lights etc. However, things progressed (as they do) & to my way of thinking a streetfighter is now a bike that comprises the bits and pieces that the owner wants / has lying around or has access to & is put together as a one-off. ie A specific frame - Spondon / Harris (for aftermarket items) or Gixxer slab-siders are favourites : Swingarm of choice (single siders always go down well 'cos their neat and tidy) : Sub-frame of choice (often bespoke) : Engine shoehorned into chosen frame : plus all the other bits and pieces (wheels etc) that either fit the look or budget. Therefore (I get to the point eventually ![]()

This is always an interesting subject - sort of like "What defines a custom"

To be a 'streetfighter', (what a painfully crass word that is), don't forget it must be constructed by someone who doesn't know one end of his mole grips from the other, also it must be a complete bodge and always be 'in progress' so never actually running. But most of all it must, in the unlikely event it ever moves, have dreadful suspension and handle very very badly. Bonus points for a truly dreadful finish. All the ones I've ever had the misfortune to be requested to work on have followed this formula very closely.
Any motorcycle that functions anything like right and/or is actually well done thus cannot be considered a 'streetfighter'.

Well, you'll need to raise your rear end stupidly, which isn't too hard, change the rear seat section, one-off exhaust, single sided swinger, USD's, aftermarket clocks. J/K.
Basically make things fit that will look cool and will be a complete 4rse to do. But I like Vox's definition. Get some ideas from here. Couple here too. |
