Anyone live near Ashburton (Devon)?

What are good (active) things to do with the kids as we are going to be there for a week soon. Not interested in the big touristy stuff unless it is a hidden gem.

Any ideas appreciated.

dry ski slope in plymouth, the national aquarium in plymouth, lots of stuff on the moor for walks etc, but be careful, in ****e weather it can be a bit rough.... good biking roads (if your following family up on your bike).. best shopping centre is exeter 9right near their cathedral)... thers a few 'fun farm' type places.... torquay is nice for sea front type stuff...

Deffo go to the nationl marine aquarium, it's big tank is amazing!

Dartington Cider press centre is cool, lots of little shops, a couple of cafes, great toy shop!

Butterfly and Otter sanctuary at Buckfast, very hot in the butterfly house, your camera will steam up!

Sea fishing from Salcombe, use the park and ride, you'll never get a spot in town. More mackerel that you will ever wish for!
