New friday meeting place?
The roads up to and around the pub are amazing. Jim the owner is a lovely guy, offered me and Pete a free drink sunday evening just before we left. The food was very nice, and Pete and I found it a very relaxing place. This is just an idea, but if this was the case, that we moved the meet to the Huntsmen and hounds, would people still be interested in turning up? Discuss please. |

Its a nice place but its a bit isolated and far away for some, plus those roads won't be as much fun when the weather is iffy...
We had the same issue with the peter boat in Leigh hence moving to battlesbridge due to it being central I'm hardly the most regular attendee though so could always put it to a vote |

As people, well me for one, tend to use a car in inclement weather I would be a yes for the change as I find the Hawk rather busy and the attitude at the Huntsman more convivial. I would like to add that the food did look rather good but I haven't sampled anything apart from a sandwich.
With regard to the roads approaching the pub I would much prefer a few twisties as against the A130, and as to being far away and isolated part of the meet is having the ride to get there.Witham is probably one of the most central areas in Essex but that was to far when suggested. Keeping in mind that the meets are more summer orientated than winter, which is once every month if you are lucky, I think it a rather good suggestion, but what do I know, these are only my personal thoughts |

The food was superb Mac. I asked for a childs portion, as MrsAlpinestars mentioned the portions were huge.
The kids sized Scampi n chips that I asked for, could have fed two little monsters ![]() Jo said her curry was really lovely....and it was Maaaahoooosive!

As I'm only a part-time attendee of the Essex Lounge meets I won't shout my opinion too loud :-
YES !!!! As I was saying to Pete & Dave I'd much rather travel to pub where we can become 'regulars' rather than be just another anoymous group as we are at The Hawk - especially if it means I get to ride the Burnahm or Latchingdon roads !! ![]()

After enjoying the AR I definitely plan to go back to the pub soon for lunch, but would be great to catch up with you all there sometime soon as I'm Chelmsford based.
Also Rode from near Ongar back to Chelmsford yesterday via the Easters. Not an area we covered on the AR but well worth it as some of the roads are great. |

Perhaps someone more IT orientated than myself could assist by putting up a pole along the lines as below.
1.Continue with the Hawk as the meet 2.Suggest a new meeting point 3. Elect the Huntsman as the new meet Please add a reply with the reason for your decision. At least if will give us a more informed opinion as to peoples preference, not just the place, prices and such. |

I think it's a great idea.
I'll start a new thread with a poll then.

My mate and I got quite excited that the meet was coming to my local, the h+h in upminster... This can't be the case if you are complimenting the food and staff! lol. Which area is it in?
