Here is a little story, got my Shoei in November, was first helmet, let the bike shop tell me if it was right etc etc, always thought it was fine until a few months ago when i noticed that it lifted up abit and could move more than i was comfortable with, went back to the shop fearing that maybe it was too big and would need a new one, hoever they said it was fine but suggested bigger cheek pads if it felt better for me (i figured if they suspected for 1 second that it may be wrong theyd happily sell me a new one). Now however it has worked loose again and when doing the life saver at speed i can feel the wind move the helemt a fair amount and obviously i dont want it moving when/if i ever need it to stay in one place.
So i ask you this, how much movement is OK and how much would you say it too much? Hope that makes sense, Cheers. Ash. |

If the wind is moving it I'd say too loose, mine doesn't move at all if I turn my head.

Had a haircut recently?
It DOES make a difference.

generally tight enough that if you move the helmet and keep your head still it pulls the skin, but no so tight it applies pressure and will give a headache.
when trying them on keep it there for 5 minutes and make sure you can't feel "pressure spots"; if you can it's the wrong shape, try a different brand, it should be an overall pressure to the thing. Cheers Mark.
