Default The ashes.

Why are england bowling so short?

The aussie's bowled england out for so few because of good bowling, pitching the ball up, and now england are pitching everything short?

Depressing eh.

Picked the wrong team in my view. Picked Swann and didn't bowl him yesterday, but left out Sidebottom. Why pick Harmison - he's been as accurate as an unmanned hose-pipe. If they wanted to recall an old war-horse they would have been better to take a punt on Hoggard IMHO. Sidebottom and Hoggy wouldn't have been "chucking pies".

Can't blame the bowlers for the pants batting, though.

Sidebottom know Headingly inside out, he played for Yorks for long enough.

Also, the Headingly wicket is well known for needing the ball pitched up.

And, being one up in the series, pick another batsman and play for a draw - DOH!

Jabba's right though, the batting is appalling!!!!

Ah, well. Only 2 tests ago, our (Aussie) bowlers seemed to have no idea where the stumps were in line or length and the batsmen simply inept. My current theory is that Stuart Clark, (the new Glenn MacGrath), keeps constant pressure on the bats and they have to play every ball which takes its toll on concentration even if the other bowlers take the wickets. The Aussie batsmen are still not consistent at all in England. Maybe Headingley suits them.

Just wonder how much Sky and the EWCB paid them to get to the final test 1 all. How can England put in such a poor performance after the last 2 tests
