Tilt & Weebles 2009 Spain/Portugal

Early planning for some time in late June. If any one is interested to join for all or part of the trip we can keep planning open and alter a little to suit.

We tend to pre book somewhat but that does not mean others have to.

The route takes in much of the

Picos de Europas,
Some Northern Spanish coast
Santiago de Compostella
Oporto
Douro Valley
4 Portugese National Parks

Taking in what are reputed to be some of the best biking roads in the Iberian Peninsular

Daily mileage is roughly 250 to 310 km/day. There is one day which is longer but can be cut back very easily. (Its just a loop (on day 3) I wanted to do last year but didn't.)

1 day off in Oporto (Day 6) and 2 days (Days 8 & 11) that could be radically shortend for those who want a rest from 4/5 hours in the saddle.

Wow! I'm absolutely amazed! I have never done a European trip with so much presicion like that! I am much more a 'the ferry over is - - - and the ferry back is - - -, lets see where the sun is shining'. O.K. maybe that's an exaggeration, but you know what I mean?

Yep, you haven't yet listed everything you'll be packing in your luggage. You're slipping, Tilt..............you're usually FAR more organised by this stage

Would be neat. Can you advise if this route is "near missing" any good roads etc....

Last time I was in Porto was 1984...... do remember some nice fish restaurants in the old town.

Sure, I'll take a better look at the route tomorrow and check that for you. And yes, loads of nice places to eat around these parts, I'll see if I can put a list together.
