Hi Guys,
just joined and was wondering about the above diffeneces between the two models? I can spot the obvious ones but are there more subtle ones? I have heard that the s model has more power and has different gearing? Also is rake and trail different on them? thanks |

no more power, but different final gear ratio's, the naked pulls a little (very little) better the S has a better top end.
Rake & trail are the same, few changes over the pointy models, but generally much the same. cheers Mark.

As above, engines are the same, as is power, suspension & brakes.
Aside from the obvious lack of fairing the naked has a different rear sprocket, giving lower gearing, thus a diffent length chain. Foot peg hangers are slightly lower on the naked, various cables and lines are longer to accomodate the higher bars. Radiators on the curvies are slightly different to accomodate a fairing mount, not sure on the pointy but this is really only of any intrest if you're looking for spares. Clearly the lights / plastics / clocks & front loom are all going to be different along with some controls & mirrors... Bizarely the swingarm is apparently slightly longer on the naked SV (certainly the mounting points for huggers have been found to be different). In all aspects that matter the bikes are the same. Many changes add up to slightly different stances, using almost exactly the same components everywhere that matters. Pick the one you like the look of. Jambo

The footpeg hangers are lower on the naked model.
Master cyl and clutch perch have mirror mounts on the N. Rear sprocket has 1 more tooth on the N, chain has an extra 2 links.

I think the front looms are identical just has blank spots on the molex in the N model.
From what I can remember from sorting the wiring on the minitwin. |
