Evening all, just out of curiosity here, I dunno if I've just noticed the symbol but when I did I topped up my oil window so it it's on the full line while the bike is upright, but for some reason it's still on. Any idea? Oh and it goes when I fire it up. Cheers

Is it not because there is no oil pressure until the engine is running? does it go out as soon as you fire the bike up?

Yep, it's a pressure switch, not a volume level. No engine running Mann's no oil pump running, so no pressure at the pump outlet.
Bonus marks for realising that this means the light is useless too tell you if the oil is low. Jambo Sent from my thingie

If it goes out when the engine's running, it's working.
If when the engine's off, and the bike's level the oil its between F and L in the sight glass then that's fine too. Jambo Sent from my thingie

As said above, it indicates that the absolute minimum of oil pressure is present, nothing more. If it comes on when the engine is running switch it off DAMN QUICK.
