Does anyone know a decent walk in motorcycle tyre shop in the Stratford/Warwick area, or a sensible distance away?
We've had a puncture. I hope to get a repair, as there's still plenty of tread left and money's tight, but if not I need a replacement Metzeler Z6. Tried search but not found anything of use (probably operator error, though). [The story: We set off on a family trip out early yesterday. 10 miles in we stop at traffic lights and the Mrs says her bike's handling really weird at the back and asks did I check pressures before we left? We pull over and the rear tyre's down to 10psi. Damn! A nail in the tyre - slow puncture. Proves she knows her SV, at least! She wasn't willing to ruin the first dry day out in ages, so I pushed the nail further in, out of the way, added tyreweld and put sense aside for a bit. 250+miles later we get home after a grand day out, but now I need to sort out a proper fix asap. ]

I asked the same question a couple of months or so ago and got no response. I ended up going to Bikersworld in Daventry and thought I got a good deal on a couple of tires but others on here seemed to disagree. Dunno if they do tire repairs though.
I would stay away from Knotts in Stratford or Frettons in Leamington, both good places and I am sure the work they do is good but the prices are high and they are always really busy so you'll probably have to wait a few days/weeks.

Sorry, dont know that side of town too well. Wheelhouse tyres in Coleshill are good, but might be a bit out of your way?
http://www.wheelhousetyres.co.uk/ Try pm'ing PeteVtwin, he's more over your way & might be able to recommend somewhere. |

Thanks for the suggestions folks.
For info, I also dug out TW Tyres in Rugby as a possibility. As all were very similar distances away from home, in the end I went this morning to Wheelhouse Tyres in Coleshill as they seemed to have best stock selection off the shelf as I realistically thought I was going to end up replacing the tyre - I know there are funny rules about repairs to ZR rated tyres. And indeed I had to replace - the nail was in at too acute an angle. (Also, Wheelhouse won't repair tyres with sealant in 'em anyway.)
