I need to change the chain on my SV650s (K4), can anyone explain the difference between X and O ring chains? and can I fit an O ring chain. I am hoping to only have the bike for a further 6 months before I trade it in for a newer model
Thanks Ste |

The logic is that X-ring chain is sealed with 4 points as opposed to 2 points with a O. Though in the real world if you lube the chain properly it makes little difference.

Anyone used these before? Looks too good to be true.
http://www.stealthproducts.co.uk/ Had a quick look around and it looks like it is too good to be true. Will avoid. Last edited by stephencassidy; 27-08-09 at 03:39 PM. Reason: update |

Give hunters motorcycles a ring on 0191 2618592, they do really good deals on C&S kit. Got me a DID X-Ring chain and sprocket kit for £72 delivered last May.

sweet, with their alledged record probably worth double checking they've sent you the right kit (number of links on the chain/number of teeth on sprocks) before you attempt to fit. Been very glad I've done that one before!
