Just gone outside.

My car is minus the N/S door mirror. just shattered remnants

Hey, become a resident in london, then its socially acceptable not to use mirrors, hence you wont really miss one

I have found part of the culprit.

the daughter has admitted "catching it" when she borrowed the car first thing this morning.

Catching. the thing is shattered, the alloy mounting snapped. the painted backing missing. the rest of the plastic shattered. a dent in the window seal trim there the mirror turned into the door.

Flea bay might just be her friend. But she is old enough to pay the bill

As a side comment I dislike when people make an understatement as in "Catching it"
please read "Demolished it" She must have clumped something pretty hard for it to have done the window trim in aswell
Make sure you don't have an impending 3rd party claim.

Breakers and/or Fleabay will have plentiful N/S mirror assemblies. If you want an O/S one though it's a different matter as I found when yet another VW driver decided that white lines didn't apply them... Can I suggest you DON'T get a pattern one from a motor factor - they usually come in primer (unless your back cover is black) and they are way more flimsy than an OEM one.
