C'mon guys and girls, what's your daftest off?
![]() Mine; falling asleep on the A66 going to the Lakes. One broken metatarsal, bent forks and battered ego.

not even an off: trying to put my first ever bike on the paddock stand unaided, the bike tipped to the offside so I ran from the rear to the side but ended up trapped underneath it...
luckily no one was around to see it so I sat there for 5 mins trying to work out how to un-trap myself ![]()

Once upon a time I owned a crappy Datsun 140J Violent that cost me 50 quid, I used it as my occasional winter hack when I was a year round every day rider. This car got through oil like no-one's business, mostly losing it through a craked sump, so I would top it up with used oil scrounged from the garage up the road. I took it to the local shop one day and parked it on the bend outside, whereupon it dumped about half a litre of oil on the road.
Later that day I had to go to a mate's house on the bike, he lived a little way past the shop. As I came round the corner where the shop is I managed to hit my own dumped oil and put the bike through a garden wall almost writing it off, and broke my wrist into the bargain. Rough justice. |

I fell off on grass. But it just happened to be in front of my ex boyfriend and 8 of his mates, all of which i hadnt seen in years. It couldnt have been a worse "see im totally over you" entrance. On top of that i had to get them to help pick the bike up. I pretty much just looked up and said "well i look a bit of a d**k dont i?!" and they all just laughed. lol. I had to work with them all for the next 2 days with them ripping it out of me lol

I've had two...
2nd day riding my SV...slow right hand u-turn...leaned over...front brakes...bang...bike lying on the ground, me stressing that I had killed her... 2nd "off" pull bike out of garage...had to squish into a small space...go to get off the bike...leg hits a tree/bush thingy...so I move it another 2 feet forward...didn't COMPLETELY pick it up off the stand...resulting in stand folding up partly...when I DID go to get off it, the stand folded up completely...Throwing me through the aformentioned bush/tree thingy, having me rolling on the grass...my mother was there to witness the whole thing...Good times ![]() |

My off was not serious, just embarrassing. We had just collected my crosser, it was scorching hot and I was wearing a dress. After unloading it on the driveway I got on, unfortunately my feet were both about 1ft from the ground either side, I stalled it went to put my foot down and fell over just as the neighbours arrived home after 4x4'ing (8 lads!) I got a round of applause but that was for the unfortunate side effect of the thong flashing they all got ![]() |

not an off but one of the stupider drops: Wondering if I could take a bike off the paddock stand with one hand....purely out of curiosity - I can't
![]() A small off, again purely out of curiosity : wondering if I can ride my bike in about 4 inches of snow on an ungritted road, I rememeber thinking the fleeting thought "this is brilliant snow ski's haven't got **** on me..."......squashed ankle and a bent brake lever later - no I can't ![]()
