Hi all, Im new to the forum and just got my 06 SV 650 last Saturday.
Didnt quite gel with the standard bars especially after sitting on one with Renthals fitted. They felt good. So after reading all the many threads on the subject managed to pick up a set of Ultra Lows with brace for £5.50 on ebay. They and the bar ends id ordered arrived today and a couple of hours later fitted with no problems, mainly due to the tips I read here. The Ultra Lows fitted fine though I did trim 25mm off the bars to prevent any stretching of cables (jubillee clip was great as a guide for a nice straight cut) I also opted to drill the holes for the locating pins. This was a doddle and well recommended. A bit of tape round the bars and then pressing the switch gear in place left a nice indent to mark for drilling. A 5mm hss new drill bit went through like it was soft wood. A lot easier than I thought it would be, but as I said due to the tips from you guys....and the bars are spot on.. Thanks to anyone who gave the fitting ideas ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by peddler; 15-09-09 at 02:23 PM. |

They don't bend like paper when you crash!

there wider so have better stability great for new riders, if you want another easy way for that same result try bandit bars slightly wider and the holes are pre-drilled in the right places, also flea bay keep them cheap too.
