Default Shorted out

As title says, to cut a long story straight, fitted my inforad into position this evening, started looking for a ignition controled 12v output using a volt meter (negative on the negative terminal of battery) and when i switched my ignition on disaster

No headlights, all 4 indicators on static, high beam light on dash, tail light on, when alarm is activated it primes the fuel pump (same legnth as the beep and indicators then stops) flashes indicators as normal, neautral light and high beam light on dash.

For now ive checked all fuses, disconnected the battery which im leaving disconnected over night and im going back to it tomorrow, where should i start looking?

Thanks

1) Disconnect the inforad and check to see if it still does the same.
2) Check around where you were working to look fo any wires you may have nicked with your cutters etc, repair as nessacary.
3) Thats about it without looking.

I take it that you were going to run it off the rear tailight (Std procedure for a ignition switched source) However, im not sure of the current drain from the Inforad, and how it works exactly. Maybe get a relay for it, dunno. I do know that SidSquid has an inforad fitted to the flying bogie, may be worht chatting to him tomorrow.

Its not connected, i was just installing into to where i want it placed, i was going to run of rear light but was told not to... so i started to look for 12v ignition controled feeds round the fuse box with a volt meter when the problem occured

Going to take the rear end off now, fiddle about reconnect battery etc then see where i stand.
