Default RIP

Another fatality in the Cat and Fiddle, two bikes head on.

I have only been over it twice and now have no intention of ever going there again.

Jeese, RIP. I really hope it's not through stupidity. Would be a real waste of a life.

oh dear.... what a waste of life..

it isnt such a bad road really. many say its boring dont they Pete... I would hazard a guess that one was riding sensibly and the other probably Rossi 'ing round at 70 ish and came real wide on a double white line bend and slammed straight in to mr sensible doing nothing wrong..

its an OK road but it has some kind of Kudos and gets filled with nobs ..

I think it's a good road but the number of fatalities is worrying. I was concerned it'd be something like that quiff

Apparently the pub used to have a map up with a red dot marking all fatal bike crash sites.

I think it's just a road for the wekeend warriors to be honest. Its reputation attracts the 'wrong' kind of rider which in turn attracts the police. Its on my door step so I have ridden it quite a few times (obviously I am now the 'wrong kind of rider! ), but there are far nicer roads within spitting distance of the Cat.

The food at the pub is ridiculously expensive too.

Agree with that there's a brilliant one like 10 minutes away from the maclesfield end.

Some roads I would steer well clear of. Cat an fiddle is one of them. Around sussex, I am wary of bikers on roads to popular bike meets, like bury hill and box hill. I keep well over.

The road is a road, not a race track. I don;t care if your GSXR1000 resembles a world superbike. Its not a world superbike race. Ride sensibly and consider other road users

That was particularly sad too. He wasn't found until the next morning.
