Sometimes they Migrate , and with the bad weather we have had this week , they get blown off course . Last time we had an infestation was when a load were leaving Holland or somewhere like that , they got blown over to Britain in a Storm .

I keep seeing loads of the orange ones, I assume the lack of sunshine has stopped them from ripening

One of my friends has said the same thing on facebook! Ladybirds hibernate so its likely with that cold snap we've just had they've thought about turning in early.

Or at least thinking about it.

Or maybe they're just making the most of life before they do turn in and your windowsill is a good venue = LADYBUG PARTYYYYY!

are they orange with black dots?? then they called harlequin.. (google is ace!

There are 46 species of ladybird (Coccinellidae) resident in Britain and the recent arrival of the harlequin ladybird has the potential to jeopardise many of these

http://www.ladybird-survey.org/harlequin.aspx

click on the linky and you can even log your sighting!!
