I am very new to riding having only passed my test 2 months ago and went straight out and got a brand new sv650 sport 0% it is the best thing I have ever done. This may seen silly to you long time bikers but I am having a small issue. When ever I go for a ride flys manage to get in my helmet and then into my eyes it has happend three times and once was a wasp and yes the visor is closed they get in by my chin i think, I have an arai chaser. Would a dubble bubble screen help I dont know what to do

Don't ride round with your head tipped back. It can obscure your view of the road and flies will get in to your helmet around the chin area.
![]() Seriously though... maybe try to keep your head tipped a little forward? Now the weather is getting a little cooler, you could look at investing in a Polar Buff, the sort with fleece at one end, put on fleece end first (at the bottom) and if you keep the lighter weight fabric bunched up at the front, you may find less get in. It's not an issue I suffer with, as my helmet has a chin curtain, some people fabricate their own, not sure what accessories Arai make. |

not your riding style that does just happen! the double bubble screen will re-direct the wind flow though!

Never had any issues with bugs getting in my lid...although I did have an Al-qaeda pigeon smack me head on...pardon the pun. Is the chin vent open? Is the anti-bug mesh still in place on the vent?

Do you have your helmet on properly, not tilted too far back etc? Helmet too big? Seems odd that a properly fitting and fitted helmet would let flies up from the bottom.

I have had bugs actually in my lid a couple of time.... they dont want to be there anymore than you want them in there.
I normally just slow down and open the visor slightly. |

the chin vent was closed. i think it must be the gap between my chin and the front of the helmet as there is no chin curtain which i did not know about. i think half the problem being new to biking is knowing what things are called and where to look for them. All your advise is appreciated anyone got experiance with helmet skirts.

ride faster they go splat over your leathers, visor and screen instead of get stuck inside your lid. or ride with the visor up they just bounce off your face instead of getting stuck.
i personally dont like helmet skirts i find the front of the helmet goes down enough to stop flies getting in. |

i have never had this problem, to me it sounds like the lid doesnt fit properly. i was told the best way to check is by putting it on opening your visor grabbing the front and trying to turn your head and you should have minimal movement without the helmet moving with you
