Didn't have a problem riding to soho in the rain, not liking those Michalins though, but apart from that it was fine, must just be you Matt.......

Cheers Mark.

The one bit of my journey I hate in the rain is the north circular from Brent Cross Interchange to Staples Corner flyover (heading west - or towards the Ace for the directionally challenged).

With standing water, being 5 lanes wide, with dozy suicide lane-changers coming from both sides, it is almost impossible to see the lane markings as the road bends to the right approaching the flyover. I find I have to get in the 4th lane (middle of A406) get behind a car, and follow the tail lights.

Mind you, coming home in the rain was easier than going to work in the dry today - guy edging right into my lane in Highgate, after a bit of dithering, he finally cut right across me (with me revving my engine and beeping like a loony to warn him I was there). He then stopped for the traffic lights, and I pulled up alongside and shouted, "You just cut me up!". He said, "Oh, I'm sorry love, I never even saw you". "That's because you were on your f*cking phone!", I delicately yelled back. I looked around for other disapproving road users to back me up, only to see a van and a car driver both on phones lost in their own worlds...

you should try being on a f-ing Gladius - wide as a house it is! I've come to the realisation that the reason the fuelling is so good is because of the sheer amount of time you spend creeping along in the traffic because you can't fit through gaps...

The rain was pretty bad tho. I don't mind the rain per se, but I also find the reduced visibility a real problem, especially when there's lots of glare, and on dark, narrow and poorly surfaced country roads when someone is coming at you with full beam on

The rain makes things tough but coming home after nightshifts the morning sun on the M4 towards london blinds me

The dark evenings do take a little more concentration, but I find my filtering speed doesn't vary much. Guess it depends ont he type of traffic you're in.
