Hi I'm looking at getting rid of the trumpet they stuck on my gladius and heve been looking at the limited options available.
I like the look of the Mivv GP carbon on the bike but I noticed the companies like beowulf (unfortunately don't yet do a can) will give a lifetime guarantee on there cans SS and Titanium but only two years IIRC on their carbon cans. So my question is, will a carbon can cr@p out on me after a couple of years? Due to the limited options available I'm going to have to stump up a fair bit of cash so want to get the best value over time. Cheers |

Totally depends on the quality, cheap CF will fall apart[1], decent stuff will last the lifetime of the bike.
Druid [1] Double wammy of cheap non-uv protective resin and too thin/not strong enough with the added 'punch' of a V2 exhaust and they'll blow themselves to bits.

Generally the carbon sleeve will last well, however should the packing ever be neglected and the exhaust heat reach it, it will distort, which probably accounts for the limited warrenty on it.
Cheers Mark.

Cheers Mark, Druid.
How do you rate Mivv? Also how often do you need to replace the packing? I'm also looking at a Scorpion as well, that one I may go for the SS otion tho. |

Not used a Mivv myself, in fact I've never had a carbon exhaust
![]() The Scorpion alloy can I have has lasted well though ~5 years and lots of trackdays, only problem is the anodizing seems to have burnt off, so it's not just carbon that goes off over time, I kind of like the effect though ![]() Compare and contrast 2004 to 2009! ![]() Druid

I've got second hand Renegade Carbon Exhaust on mine, it's holding up pretty well, however I have neglected the packing on it, and at one end it is starting to 'brown' where the backfires have burned through the packing and are now staining the carbon fibre.
It's only noticeable if you're properly looking at it in detail though, no-one else have ever commented on it, and I don't notice it half of the time either! |

Nice pix Druid! Must admit I quite like the "new" look on yr can.
I started looking a carbon cans as I have the black gladius and I'm trying to black out the silver shineyness. Saw pix of the Mivv GP carbon which looks nice. I fancied getting a black SS Beowulf but they're not doing anything til next year. |

My brother had a pair of Carbon Mivvs on his Z1000, looked good quality, although I understand they weren't cheap.
![]() Cheers Mark.

![]() Those are the exact ones I'm looking at About 330euros here in spain. Think they look/sound good. Unfortunately they're around the lower end of what's available so far for the SFV ![]() Last edited by chilli; 11-12-09 at 09:02 PM. |
