Default Virgin Credit Card -

Due to an overspend this year (well if the government can i can) I had to invest on a 0% Virgin credit card.

Everything was hunky dory with 0% balance transfers & Credit card cheques untill dec 2010 well within the period I want to clear the balance by.

I was very careful to ensure I didn't slip up and use the wrong card so I wouldn't incur interest charges, but I noticed two lots of interest charged to my over the last two months,

In short I used a non 0% cheque they had sent out to me by mistake!

Slightly miffed I shrugged it off, but it ate at me that they sent our non interest free cheques during the period agreed? so I called them, and to my surprise they have agreed to refund the interest and put all the balance onto the 0% rate as I believed it already was.

Now Ill wait to see if it does happen as I know sometimes they don't keep to their word, but I was amazed, no arguing, no telling me off or bartering, pure and simple, Ok we understand ill do this to sort it out and if you do want to use a cheque again, just call to check its interest free first.... (they are all shreded now anyway)

I just wanted to share a positive customer services experience this crimble tide.

Cheers

Alex

Always be very careful with the cheques credit card companies send out. (I thought the government was trying to ban them) as they get treated like a cash withdrawal against your card.

If I ever receive them, they are shredded.

Yes, and when you spend or take out cash on a credit card then it is the last to be paid off.

For instance go to the hole in the wall and take out £40, same day but later, buy something on the net for say £500.

Pay off £500 for the internet purchase, but you're still paying daily interest on the cash until you've cleared everything off the card, even though that might have been the first transaction.

Happend to me, although cash was an emergency and not something I ever do normally. ****ed me off because it was a 9month 0% on purchases card too

I made very sure the ts & Cs confirmed purchases including cheques were counted in the 0%, however they had to be promotional cheques, the ones I picked up and used were not promotional cheques. a little sneaky but I feel I have been treated fairly now.

Is a short term thing any way once it is paid off it will be shredded.
