Default Alternative Sv rear brake reservoir

Saw this on Ebay, and wondered a) will it fit the Sv b) Any problems with getting rid of the OEM reservior

one problem I can see is losing the height of the reservoir which assists in bleeding the rear brake. The other is that it doesn't have a sight glass to tell you how full (or empty) it is.

But it appeals to me, by being quite a neat product and gets rid of the reservoir, which is hard to get to.

Well I don't think it'd make much difference to the bleeding, but I'd not be too happy about the loss of my level.

It's a cosmetic change, so go for it if you like the look of it. One thing I would say is I've found with the standard reservoirs on most bikes (SV included) that if you fit new pads and get the fluid level to the top, that there is sufficient capacity for the pads to wear to their limit without the reservoir running dry. I don't know how big this piggy back one is but if it can't do that, then checking up on the fluid might become slightly more important (you should be checking anyway) and without the sight glass you'll be peering in the top.

Just a few thoughts,

Jambo

I would just use bit of clear pipe instead, lighter too.

Clear pipe is never going to be as bling as a nice piece of alloy YC

Trouble is you need to tell people it's made by HRC otherwise it just looks like a bit of green pipe!

What about these from Rizoma. I like the look of these. Functional - with sight glass, and good looking too.

They look nice Scoobs, but I like the way this one attaches to the mastercylinder.

But the Rizoma one would look nice on the front
