Default Windows 7 Question

I've got firefox in the quick launch, but when I click it, it doesn't open firefox.... it sort of turns in to firefox. And then I don't have a quick launch button for firefox again until I completely exit firefox. Does that make any sense? Hopefully it will to 7 users.

The same happens with windows media player. I normally have "show desktop" in the quick launch bit too but 7 won't let me move it from the bottom right corner

Is there a way to get it back like vista so that the quick launch button stays there?

Why would you want quick launch when you can simply right click on the Firefox taskbar icon and click on "Mozilla Firefox" to open a new window?

Much tidier in W7 than Vista/XP

Ahh I thought what I had was quick launch but it was just some programs "pinned" to the taskbar. That's it sorted cheers

Because it's quicker. Plus with the pinned stuff it doesn't keep things in order of when I opened them on the taskbar. The firefox windows were stuck at the left and ended up shoving windows media player along to the right. It just seemed a mess

Before anyone tries to blame me, I didn't invent Windows 7.

Glad we've cleared that up.

No it isn't

And why you'd want programs arranged in the order you opened them I have no idea, makes far more sense to keep them grouped

It was odd at first, but after a week it's 2nd nature and after a year you realise how much better a system it is

It's one click compared to two so it is quicker. And I want them in the order I opened them so that I know where they are instantly rather than looking to see where windows has put them. Not really bothered about all the firefox windows being together etc

Of course it will...

If you're feeling truly backward you could try running windows from the command line only to make it look more like DOS...
