Default Haiti

Now this might be my over cynical mind at work here but....

I canīt help worry that countries that face major natural catastrophes today, actually face more then the clean up from the intial source of their countries unfortunate predicament.

By this I mean, when the US and Co. get involved with sending in aid and the initial "rescue" has been acheived, it seems that the outside countries who have aided them seem to then demand a high price for their help.

Please correct me if I am wrong (I am sure that someone will) but, there seems to be an awful lot of business transactions benefiting those that have done the "helping" that goes along with these horrid misfortunes.

Iīm not saying that we should with hold offers of help to such crises however, is it right that countries then make a profit off the back of such things?

Thoughts..........

Hey, we're still on payback to the US for the 'help' they gave us in WW2.

I see that Hilary's in Haiti now,,, things can only get worse.

I think that right now the governments and the people of the countries who are pledging help are geniuine. I believe Obama, Brown and others genuinely want to help the people of Haiti. However, once things get to the stage where rebuilding the infrastructure is needed, corporate greed and opportunism comes into play and companies look to make some profits from rebuilding the country.

An ex member of RAF that I used to work with is now working for the UN and he is in Haiti and was when the earthquake happened - I hope he is safe and well.

Actually, I'm sure we finished paying for this about 3 years ago, but it is disgraceful that we had to pay back at all.

What????
Gee... Now that's something they don't teach you in school.
Yes that is disgraceful. Big time.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised though. Greed rules and everything has a pricetag in the "Land of the Free".
