Default drunk rant

you do know its all a load of boloxxx dont you.... you never know what life is like round the next corner. and true love is when you find your partner disabled because of some unfortunate event.

so own up those of you who would truly look after their partner if they suddenly become disabled?

or are you the type of person who looks after number 1..........

I've really been married for 26+ years.
(Together 3 years before that)
Really married.
Richer, poorer, in sickness and in health, till death do us part, etc. the whole works.

Together forever... of course I'm going to be there.
Without a seconds hesitation.
I've already been there for her, and she has been for me.

Real love still exists around every corner and down every road, no matter where they may lead. Good times or bad.
That's what love is.

Difficult one... She'd probably fail an MOT now anyway so I suppose something with a few less miles on is probably a good idea. Mmmm, the bodywork is starting to go too. Difficult to start. Expensive to run. Bit of a no brainer I guess.

Seriously though, already been there when she was very ill about 7 yrs ago. A one point even had the dreaded call of "she's failing, you need to come in." A very difficult couple of years but I didn't think I'd had enough.

And she returned the compliment 4yrs back, and looked after me after my accident. 4mths laid up followed by 2.5yrs physio, there are a number of things she still has to do for me. She's never moaned once.

Even in the darkest times you still have a laugh. We'd stick together.

You're obviously not doing it right...! After all those years together I am disappointed in you.

Seriously though I'm with you on this one, it's the bad times that test a relationship yet at the same time that's when you appreciate each other the most. I guess the truth to the original question would depend on the prognosis. How about turning the question around, if you knew you were permanently disabled to the point that you needed someone to devote all their time to caring for you would you want your loved one to do it?

Oh I do get her to moan - usually "not again, not tonight."

As to the "turn it around." I've always said that if I get something terminal I'd take myself off somewhere, when it got really bad, and not be a burden on her. Her reply has always been, "I'll kill you if you do that."
