Just got my renewal quote from my bike insurer, and they have not given me my no claims discount due to an accident I had last year in April - which I didn't claim on or get any pay-out either.
Can I not detest this? in order to get my NCD. Also, if I seek alternate insurance from another company, can I reframe from putting the accident down as no other parties were invloved. Thanks. |

argue with them, its called 'NO CLAIMS DISCOUNT'. not 'no accident discount'. only thing i can think of is there was a 3rd party claim against you. if not then they would have to honer the discount. informing an insurance company you had an accident does not constitute as a claim, but on the other hand they might see you as a higher risk, this should not go against your no claims though.

I had an off and received a no claims certificate that included an extra year of no claims, but it also stated that I was involved in an accident.
By that time I've already insured my new bike with another insurer. When I got the certificate, I gave them a call and send it to them - they said, that's ok, and haven't raised my original quote. |

Just called them up and they said that the claim was on hold, until further notification. So I told them to remove it as there were no 3rd parties involved. So the guy on the phone said that they will need to speak to the underwriters on Monday to remove this, and once that has taken place, then a new renewal quote will be issued.
So just on GoCompare and seeing what's available as well. |

No.Thats a higher premium because you have a history of having an accident thus making you a higher risk.It has nothing to do with a no claims bonus which is a % reduction on the premium as a reward for not having made a claim. Two different things.

Thanks folks for your comments, and I'll see what the underwriters say and let you know the outcome.
