Default MOT Question

OK I'm being a bit of a lazy git here... My number plate light is not working and I assume it's the bulb (cos it's not the fuse) that needs replacing. Now changing this bulb on the VFR is a PITA, especially with the pannier racks fitted.

So I'm thinking to leave it for the MOT bods and say to replace any bulbs that need it. Will they fail the bike if they CBA to change the bulb? Might they charge me a load of labour to change it?

Should I just go get cold in the garage for an hour to change it?

All depends Mike. I have had vehicles pass and fail for that fault in the past. If it's a couple of minute job to change it, they are more than likely to just go ahead and change it then charge you for the bulb and fitment when they hand you your pass certificate. If it's a pain as yours is, I'd guess you run the risk of a failure. But then I have also had vehicles pass without any mention of it. It's such a trivial thing wrong.

Just checked my MOT certificate properly and it's due 27th of NEXT month, not this month! So I'll probably do this when it warms up a tad in the garage.
