only just got back in, Never have I been so scared of the A66.... Whiteout and blizzard. Visor froze on the inside as well as the snow on the outside...

Had to wait for the snow plough and gritter in Barnard Castle!

and my tyres felt quite grippy.......

Sounds like one of those epic rides

I had one of these when I went to the 'April Showers' rally in the 1980's. Woke up on the Sunday to 6 inches of snow, wet gloves and slippery roads, plus 150mile ride home

Bought some marigold gloves to wear inside my wet gloves, worked a treat.

Glad you got home safe

The snow got worse on the A59 over to Harrogate - slush in the middle of the my lane . Back and defrosted anyway.

it was Ok all the way home for us until we were within 500 yards of house. 30 minutes to do that part as it was just a sheet of ice!
