Default Armour testing/comparison

I seem to remember a while ago Ride mag did a comparison test of all the different impact absorbing armour on the market.

Has anyone got a link to it or could scan it?

Cheers

I'm pretty sure there was one done on armour for knee/elbow/shoulder too.

I'm after this one because leathers I have just have the cheapy foam in there not CE armour. I want to see the article as I'm curious how much better the branded stuff is. (I'll probably end up going "be reet" but it's nice to know the risk...)

I'll have a look in the bog Chris...is it possible you may have read it sat up there? lol

The waffle stuff is supposed to be good. Think it was Hiprotec or something in Heine Gericke that time you asked me to have a gander.

Yeah I know the hiprotec is good stuff, believe luckypants tested some fairly conclusively!

Problem is it is expensive, more than I paid for leathers! Halvarssons stuff is great, problem is it is wrong shape for pockets.

Its not that expensive!.....unless its for your lovely coloured £7.50 ebay leathers

Had a quick look in the bog, but the Ride mags up there just have the usual monthly recommended back protectors, but I did find an interesting write up about suspension
Theres a couple more kicking about somewhere, I'll fish em out and look tomorrow.
Funny you should say that about Halvarssons, I'm getting annoyed with my backprotector in my jacket....think it might be time to invest in one of those seperate ones you and Maria have.

only time my back protector is uncomfortable is when i cant be bothered to take the small one out when i wear my full length one!
We have the "track" protectors. When you've dropped sprog if you want to try one on feel free.

Mags suspension writeups are crap! Usually "this is a sag, get a grown up to help you" or "we picked an ohlins shock 'cos it woz teh shinnyezt"

Its not uncomfortable, its just moves about in the pocket it was made for, butts me on the back of the helmet sometimes.

I'll let you look next time your round...its about what makes some better than others.

Forcefield do all the replacement bits, shoulders, elbows, knees, hips. Check out fleabay, several suppliers on there at sensible prices (ballpark £20 each pair, cheaper for sets, too expensive??). Dimensions can be found.
