Lo
Thinking of buying this TV; http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...V/Product.html (Not the g15 version as it seems to same except extra features i wont use picture quality is the same (correct me if i'm wrong)). This is primarily a gamer TV for my 360/PS3 with bluray usage as well. Yea it will be hooked upto a virgin box but like i said its my potential gaming TV. I was thinking plasma to replace my LCD TV (old samsung model 720p/1080i 32inch bout 3yrs old!) for the better colours and the reponse times look good. My current TV is starting to show its age imho! Anyway opinions please! (PS i'll flog my old one cheap if i get this one!) |

I am lead to beleive that playing computer games on a plasma TV will not be good for the plasma tv; image burn can occur, from the still images
Peronally, I prefer LCD TV's to Plasma...and OLED tv's to LCD. I think LCD has better pic quality than plasma and OLED's are just the mutts nuts ![]() |

plasma not great, as it may burn and cheaper ones has lower refresh rate etc.
lcd/led is the way. Plasma tends to be noisy as it has fan cooling, you may want to check the spec first. hth ![]() |

TV is only broadcast in 1080i, and there not that many games that are 1080p. Are blue ray films even 1080p.
I know what you mean about showing age. Our 37" LCD is only 3 years old but weighs a ton, it cost a fortune back in the day. Some of the new Sony Bravia tvs are just unbelievable. |

Kuze get the G10 its an amazing set I am a big AV Buff and really into my Tv's I own 2 plasmas 50" and 40" and 32" LCD and have owned various sets over the past 2 years and also read lots about TV's and would say i can give a good opinion.
it will be fine on xbox360 PS3 games the picture quality is far better on plasma than LCD plasma gives Better black levels/True colours and Zero motion blur. LED Tvs are just glorified LCD's .... not worth the extra cash, i would only get an LCD if below 32" anything over 32" and plasma is the way to go. On that G10 you wont get any screen burn you may get a litte retention now and again but it will be minimal and only last a a few minutes if that . you wont be disappointed if you go for it. http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma-tv/panasonic/viera-txp42g10/pana-txp42g10b Then get john lewis or currys to price match it if you want it on finance . John lewis give 5 year free warranty

That G10 is a good set-up. I've been looking at replacing my CRT with that and it gets good reviews on almost all the AV forums and websites I've looked at.

i searched hi and low when i replaced my 30" dolby pro tosh for something that would be just as good a picture, believe me when i say i looked at everything that was in the shops. whet did i get? a panasonic plasma. why? coz the picture was streets ahead of the rest of them while watching fast moving stuff like footy, golf and racing etc.etc. the LCD's tended to give me motion sickness and the LED's were just to damned expensive.
i've had mine over a year now and i got image retention once, but its not there anymore. the plasmas of old were notorious for being unreliable and fickle. the new ones have no such problems apart from 1 and that is they burn a lot of watts, mine burns 360watt. where an equivelent LCD would be about 80watt if i remember. as hindle says up to 32" then LCD after that to 52" then Plasma after that then its Projectors. LED are to new to comment but my mate has just got himself a 50" LED and swears its miles better than the 42" panny plasma he had before it. |
