Default Brake pad life?

How long have people found their front and rear brake pads to last before they need changing?
Mine have been on around 10k and are looking like they may need changing in the near future.

Cheers
Dan

My front ones seem to go for about 10k

rear is lasting a bit longer than that at the moment

Out of interest, what pads do you use? I use EBC organic ones, but I would like to try their sintered ones next

I believe these are still the stock pads atm, will look at the service records ect, but as far as i know they havent been changed since new.
How do you rate the EBC pads?

Well, I dont have much to compare them too really, but here is how I find my brakes in general; they lack initial bite and they lack feel. Initial bite could be the pads, which is why I am keen to try the other variety EBC offer. I find my brakes to be consistent in their performance though, which is probably very much down to the pads

Ah they sound like pretty good pads to me. Might try the HH EBC pads. Yet to have to change the pads, so will then have a good comparison for future reference.

On the EBC site it says it recommends you fit new pads to new discs.....that may b helpful for business for them, but not necessary i presume? (i know on a car its not but wondered if would be different on a bike?)

Only applies when you are changing discs Else you can throw in new brake pads with old discs

My local bike shop has stopped stocking GG pads and sells the Carbone Lorraine (sp?) HH ones as standard. I think the rears worked out at around £16 or £18 the other week.
