Default oil burner update

As you may be aware, my Triumph sprint st 1050 has beeen using oil, it has been back to the dealers not a triumph dealer three times now, it does not produce smoke when running, the first time they changed the oil filters and spark plugs, second time compression test= all ok, strip head off diagnose valve stem seals so change these i get the bike back do 167 miles two up and have to put 1/2 ltr of oil in, back it goes for the third time, one of the managers takes it out does aprox 100 miles comes back phones me and says it has used no oil, but can we do the same tommorow, fire away says i, this was yesterday and they were meant to get back to me last night, no phone call, left it a few hours today phone them up err we are still checking it we will call you back, suspiciouse methinks, couple of hours later he phones back and said it had used 400 milli ltr on the last 100 miles, yahoo get in there says i, well i didn't really but that's what i thought lol.
Any how to cut a medium story short, he said they were getting a bandit 1250 in soon with full luggage and would i swap to that, bearing in mind i had test ridden one i said i wanted either another sprint or my money back so to speak, they don't have a sprint in stock at the moment, so either they have to buy one from some where or they pay off the finance on the sprint and i walk away, as the trade in price on the sv was the ammount needed to clear the finance on it, any input on this would be appreciated, cheers andy.

id say
no ,thanks for the offer but i wanted a sprint not a bandit otherwise i would have bought one
so i leave the ball in your court either you get me a sprint from somewhere same or younger year with same or lower mileage (from when i origanly bought it) or you give me my money back eg whatever the part ex was for the sv in my hand and you pay off/take over the fianance so its not against my name, id say 3 weeks is a fair time for you to find a new sprint or do the cash option
thanks
hth

Not me but the dealer has a couple of times, and basically they are both flumoxed as they say there should be plumes of smoke coming out the back as it is using so much oil, but there is nothing out the back smoke wise, they took the bike to a Triumph dealer and put it on the diagnostic machine and every thing checked out ok, it has been compression tested twice again as near as damit perfect results, they have conceded defeat and as we all know that is the thing they least like to do, so what ever happens it looks like i will not be on that particular bike.

Well the compression rings must be fine, so it's either they've not taken the burr off the valve stems right and ripped the new seals or it's the oil rings and they misdiagnosed it in first place.

chris, the manager said even if we strip it right down and change the rings then there is no guarantee that all will be well, well not if as you say and they messed up fitting the valve seals, so i assume the only way to be 100% sure would be to change all the rings and seals = expensive, bummer, will find out tommorow what there offer is.

Mine chucks oil through the crank breather. I can lose that amount too and not see any burn. You looked in the airbox?

Anybody know what i am entitled to if they don't come back with a replacement bike that i am happy with, i guess the deposit i paid plus the extra for warranty and the payments i have made on the sprint so far, good will gesture from them? lol. The mrs recons that they will come back with, we will find you another bike, guess i will find out soon, bloody pain in the **** this is though.
