Default Trying to Rip ME off - Don't think so!

Oh Man! I'm soooo angry.

Post has just arrived and there is an invoice for a company I have already paid £200 for advertising my business. The invoice is an additional £110.

Got straight on the phone and its a hidden charge thats written into the contract for the "artwork".

Now when I sign anything I'm really on the ball with paying money. Infact the sales man was selling me a £200 contract but it was gonna be for 2 years at £200 per year. He never said this until the contract was in front of me and the money didn't add up. Bascially it turned into a £400 contract payable now. Luckily I spotted it and queried that it wasn't what he was telling me and I was furious that he was pulling the wool over my eyes. I should have cancelled there and then but it was worth doing so I signed.

Now they are trying to charge me for the artwork that he said was included. Sure enough on the back of the contract is "£95 + VAT artwork fee". I phoned them straight up and made a polite complaint saying that any additional charges should have been pointed out at the time of sale. Luckily they have agreed to take the additional fee out and knowing that they have my card details on file ready for the last payment I have cancelled the card.

I hate being taken for a fool

Is it valid on the back of a contract?!

Bunch of sharks.

If they tried to enforce it I would say that the sales bloke had a duty to point it out, and misrepresented the effect of the contract, and that anyway as against them you dealt as a consumer and so the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regs 1999 apply, specifically Schedule 2 para 1(i). Google it, it's an interesting read. Although you were acting for your business, you were a consumer as far as they were concerned cos advertising is not your business.

Stick to cards in phone boxes...saves on all the fees.
