****ty insurance companies

I got my car insured with Quinn Direct back in november because it was the only quote under £2500 but lost my job so i had to cancel the insurance. I was paying a month in advance so first payment was about 400 quid then 157 a month after that and I phoned and ancelled it a couple of weeks ago they said "cancel your direct debit and we'll send a letter if you owe any money" I changed the date that the payments came out so i though it would be about 60quid which the first letter said it was so i went to put a cheque in the bank so i could pay it and today i get another letter informing me that I owe £215 when i phoned them to ask thema bout it all i got was some thick as pig **** irishman on the other end of the phone repeating the line "You havent payed it" he couldnt explain what it was that has made me owe an extra months insurance he could only say those 4 words over and over. I would have payed the 60 quid because i did owe that but not the extra money that they decided to add on they can **** off if they think there getting that. They have the most unhelpful staff in the world. My bank statements seem to show that I've paid they think that I havent well if the want to get the money they can come to my house and try and take it.
