Finally after a few years of dreaming of a Bike Trip it will happen
![]() ![]() Days booked off work, bike is readyish all I need to do now is confirm routes and book tickets accomodation!! Trip one is Highlands. Probably over the end of May Bank Holiday weekend plus an extra day. Leaving Thursday afternoon and return Monday night. Trip two is north France in early July. Ride down to the south, catch a boat and then ride around for a week in Rennes & Nantes area. Did I say I'm excited? ![]() ![]() So any suggestions for places to stay and routes to ride and views to see are more than welcome ![]() Off to book the ferry!!! |

I've also got a road trip planned for this year. I've been researching loads of roads in the south of france so if you want some road names/ideas let me know.
We're going to Lac Du Annecy again for the 1st day (3.27am train ![]() Just hope the bike makes it. |

Sounds great trip!! I don't have that many days - only a week and will only ride around the northwest of France but hopefully next to the coast as I need to see some nice beaches and go for a swim!!

But seriously...
In the south of France, the whole area along the Canal du Midi is nice, we do it by canal boat though so not sure about the road situation...

Thing is, there isn't that many great roads in the north France. Most are straight roads for many miles.
You can follow the coastal road from Calais to Bologne (sp?), thats a nice road. You could make it down to La Harve following the costal road, but then u'd have to straightline it back ![]() Head south fella, honestly. Once your past Reims, life gets much better for riding. Either that or head to Germany? But then it depends on what kinda trip you want to do as well. ![]() |

Well we always wanted to see the Scottish Highlands
![]() I'm not sure we have the time in 6 days to head south France and still have time to ride around. Obviously open to suggestions again |
